Prepare B-Pillar For Installation - Ar63.20-P-1350-07LF

except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Mark separations on B-pillar paneling (1) and cut (areas A, B and C).
Take separation points from vehicle.
- Grind mating surfaces on B-pillar paneling (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas D).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

Take separation points from vehicle.

Cut out spot welds on B-pillar reinforcement (2) on inside (areas F).

Mark separating points on B-pillar reinforcement (2) and cut (areas E1 and E2 ).
Take separation points from vehicle.

Cut out spot welds on B-pillar reinforcement (2) on inside (areas F1 ).
- Grind mating surfaces on B-pillar reinforcement (2) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces (areas G and H).
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.

- Grind mating surfaces on inner B-pillar (3) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas I).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
