Mark separating points on B-pillar paneling (1) and cut (areas A and B).
Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
Dimensions:
a = approx. 135 mm

b2 = approx. 485 mm

- Mark separation point on B-pillar paneling (1) and cut (area C).
Do not cut too deeply.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
Transfer separating point from recesses of inner side (arrows) to B-pillar paneling (1).
- Expose spot welds on A-pillar paneling (1) and cut out (areas D).

Dimensions:
c = approx. 25 mm
- Heat B-pillar paneling (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded.
- Remove B-pillar paneling (1).

Do not make the cuts too deep.

Mark separating points along Y-marking (areas E).
Cut is required to expose spot welds behind (area F).

e2 = approx. 155 mm
Mark separating points along Y-marking (areas E1 ).
Cut is required to expose spot welds behind (area F1 ).

Dimensions:
h = approx. 40 mm

- Expose spot welds on B-pillar reinforcement (2) and cut out (areas I and K).
Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas K).

- Heat B-pillar reinforcement (2) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded.
- Remove B-pillar reinforcement (2).

- Expose spot welds on remaining pieces of inner B-pillar (3) and cut out (areas L).
- Remove remaining pieces of inner B-pillar (3).
Shown on model 222.0
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched inner C-pillar sidewall.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas M).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
