	Remove/install
1	Release parking brake	Only if removing brake disk (3) at the rear axle.
2.1	Detach brake caliper (1) or brake caliper support from steering knuckle or wheel carrier on front axle	When removing brake disk (3) on front axle.
		Do not kink brake hose or subject it to tension and fasten brake caliper (1) free of tension at vehicle. Otherwise the brake hose will be damaged. Do not detach brake hose at brake caliper (1).	AR42.10-P-0070GZ
2.2	Remove brake linings	Model 166, 292 Only if removing brake disk (3) at the rear axle.
		Do not kink brake hose or subject it to tension and fasten brake caliper (1) free of tension at vehicle. Otherwise the brake hose will be damaged. Do not detach brake hose at brake caliper (1).	AR42.10-P-1700W
3	Reset parking brake on brake adjuster	Model 164 Only if removing brake disk (3) at the rear axle.
		If the parking brake drums are run in, turn back the brake adjuster of the parking brake. Otherwise the parking brake shoes may be damaged.	AR42.20-P-0540GZ
4	Unscrew bolt (2)	i Replace bolt (2).
		Safety screw, brake disk to rear axle	*BA42.10-P-1001-13B
5	Remove brake disk (3)	Safety screw, brake disk to front axle	*BA42.10-P-1001-11A
	Check
6	Check brake disk (3) for wear and condition
		Model 164	AP42.10-P-4258GZ

		Model 292 If there are problems ↓ Always replace brake disks in pairs	AR42.10-P-0120A
7	Check parking brake shoe for condition and lining thickness	Model 164 Only if removing brake disk (3) at the rear axle. If there are problems ↓ Replace parking brake brake shoes

	Clean
8	Clean contact surfaces and interference fit of brake disk (3)
9	Lightly grease interference fit of brake disk (3)	Paste, hot lubrication 1 kg, DBL 6879.20	*BR00.45-Z-1005-06A
10	Install in the reverse order
	Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time, after repair work.	Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.	AS42.50-Z-0002-01A
11	Operate brake pedal several times until brake linings (3) rest against brake disks	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.
12	Check fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir, correct if necessary
