Install And Weld In Outer A-Pillar With Side Longitudinal Member - Ar63.20-P-1150-04GQ

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
Shown on model 166.0
- Install A-pillar inner section (3), fit and fix in place.
- A-pillar inner section (3)
(areas P1 , P2 and P3 ).
- A-pillar inner section (3)
(areas O1 , O2 , Q1 and Q2 ).
- Fit A-pillar reinforcement and remove A-pillar reinforcement.
- Apply sealant to foam parts (areas X1
and X2
).
Apply sealant only after fitting A-pillar reinforcement.

- Install A-pillar reinforcement (2), fit and fix in place.
- Drill Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes in A-pillar reinforcement (2) and A-pillar inner section (3) (areas S1 and S2 ).
- Remove A-pillar reinforcement (2).
- Deburr rivet holes on A-pillar reinforcement (2) on both sides.
- Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.
- Install A-pillar reinforcement (2), fit and fix in place.
- Rivet A-pillar reinforcement (2) and A-pillar inner section (3) with Ø 6.5X12.5 blind rivet (areas S1 and S2 ).
- A-pillar reinforcement (2)
(areas R and U1 , U2 , U3 ).
- A-pillar reinforcement (2)
(areas T1 and T2 ).
- Grind weld seams on A-pillar reinforcement (2) down flat on mating surfaces (areas T1 and T2 ).
- Install A-pillar outer paneling (1), fit and fix in place.
- Drill Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes in A-pillar outer paneling (1) (area V).
- Remove A-pillar outer paneling (1).
- Deburr rivet holes on A-pillar outer paneling (1) on both sides.
- Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

- Install A-pillar outer paneling (1), fit and fix in place.
- Rivet A-pillar outer paneling (1) with Ø 6.4X14 countersunk head rivet (area V).
- A-pillar outer paneling (1)
(area W).
- A-pillar outer paneling (1)
(areas X1 and X2 ).
- Grind inert gas welds down flat.
- Clean weld joints.
- Solder surfaces on A-pillar outer paneling (1) in areas X1 and X2 with body solder.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
