Removing Rear Section Of Roof Paneling - Ar65.10-P-5760-01GQX

MODEL 166.8 

  1. Insert spacer blocks on and damaged side of roof duct between center roof paneling (1) and side roof paneling and adjust dimension.

    IMPORTANT When installing the rear roof paneling (1) can be fitted with the adjusted spacer blocks.

  2. Mark positions on vehicle and dimensions on spacer blocks.
  3. Expose spot welds on rear roof paneling (1) and drill with Ø 5 mm BTR bit (areas B and D).
  4. Expose spot welds on rear roof paneling (1) (areas A and C).
  5. Cut out spot welds on rear roof paneling (1) (areas A, B, C and D).

  6. Heat rear roof paneling (1) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded.

  7. Remove damaged rear roof paneling (1).

  8. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in crosshatched areas (E, F, G, H, I and J).

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  9. Remove shavings and drill chips.
  10. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas E, F and G).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
