Processing Permanent Underbody Protection For Painting - Ar97.20-P-0500-03GZ

When replacing body parts, carefully treat bottom and underfloor with permanent underfloor protection to prevent corrosion and leakage. All body parts must be free of dust, oil and wax; thoroughly remove loose permanent underfloor protection pieces. The permanent underfloor protection has a synthetic rubber-base and is suitable for application to fender bottom parts, underfloor as well as transitions to underbody protection processed at the factory. This permanent underbody protection agent is a water-base dispersion suitable for use on body parts as well as paneling. For processing on the paneling (e.g. front fender below bumper or longitudinal members at entrance), thin material with 5 % water to achieve better coverage. Observe following procedure.

1. Carefully clean affected body parts.

   Heat guns and flat-spray nozzles with integrated scraper or rotating wire brushes are suited to remove permanent underfloor protection.

2. Uniformly apply permanent underfloor protection.

   Do not spray permanent underbody protection agent on assemblies.

   It can lead to function impairment.

3. Maintain drying time (overpaintable).
