Retrofit Mounting Console For Upper Front Safety Net - AZ68.50-P-0009-02GQX

The following work procedure is described on the right side of the vehicle. install front upper mounting console on left side of vehicle in same manner. Assemble in front of grab handle.

1. Detach edge guard (5) in area of B-pillar paneling (16) and headliner (10) as shown.
2. Glue masking tape (10) to headliner according to dimensions (a to d).

   Dimensions  :

   a = 317 mm

   b = 80_mm

   c = 60 mm

   d = 80 mm

   Measure dimension (b) in marked area (arrow A) from bottom edge of headliner (10) along course of contour. Measuring in the area of the B-pillar paneling (16) and the corresponding radius on the headliner (10) leads to measurement errors. Measure dimension (d) starting at rear grab handle (7).

3. Mark cutting line (broken line) according to dimensions (a to d) as shown.

   Dimensions:

   a = 317 mm

   b = 80_mm

   c = 60 mm

   d = 80 mm

   Provide corners with a 5 mm radius.

4. Pull headliner (10) downward and push cutting protection (14) between windowbag (15) and headliner (10) as shown.

   Carefully push in cutting protection (14).

   Otherwise the windowbag can be damaged (15).

5. Position cutting protection (14) so that the area of the headliner (10) to be cut out is completely covered.

   Ensure that the cutting protection (14) is positioned correctly.

   Otherwise the windowbag (15) can be damaged when cutting out the headliner (10).

6. Carefully cut headliner (10) along previously marked cutting line with cutter.

   Cut carefully and ensure that the cutting protection (14) is positioned correctly.

   Otherwise the windowbag can be damaged (15).

7. Remove piece cut out from headliner (10).
8. Pull out cutting protection (14).
9. Remove masking tape (11) from headliner (10).
10. Clean headliner (10).
11. Align headliner (10) in area of B-pillar paneling (16).
12. Remove edge guard (5).
13. Unscrew nut (13).

    Nut (13) is an eliminated part.

14. Install carrier (2.1) on threaded pin on headliner and tighten with nuts (2.2) included in package.

    Observe installation position of carrier (2.1). The carriers (2.1) for front, rear, left and right are different.

15. Tighten mounting console (2) with bolt (2.3).
