DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Notes on bolted connections with self tapping screws   AH00.00-P-0007-01SF
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Secure vehicle on vehicle lift   AR00.60-P-0100GZ
2 Remove screw/bolts (2) and remove diagonal strut (2) Engine 642 in model 292  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, diagonal strut to rear engine crossmember *BA22.10-P-1007-03G 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, diagonal strut to body *BA22.10-P-1009-03G 
3 Remove screw/bolts (3s) and cross strut (3) Engine 642 in model 292  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, cross strut to rear engine crossmember *BA22.10-P-1006-03G 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, cross strut to body *BA22.10-P-1008-03G 
4 Unscrew nuts (4s) on rear engine mount TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt/nut, rear engine mount to rear engine crossmember *BA22.10-P-1004-03G 
5 Support transmission using an assembly unit mount and mounting plate    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 10 62 00 Support plate   WS26.00-P-3309B
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 11 62 00 Major assembly mount   WS01.00-P-0092B
6 Detach left and right catalytic converter from rear engine crossmember (1) Engine 276 in model 292  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, exhaust system to rear crossmember *BA49.10-P-1014-01AK 
7 Remove screw/bolts (1) and remove rear engine crossmember (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, rear engine crossmember to body *BA22.10-P-1005-03G 
8 Install in the reverse order    
DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
9 Perform an engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leaktightness
