	Remove/install
1	Remove rear underfloor paneling	Only install underfloor paneling after the engine test run and leak test.	AR61.30-P-1001GQ
2	Disconnect electrical connection of the respective oxygen sensor (1, 2, 3, 4) and expose lines		AR07.04-P-0021MLJ
3	Remove rear engine crossmember	Engine 157 in model 166 Engine 278 in model 166	AR22.10-P-1180GQ
4	Secure center exhaust system (9) against falling down
5	Detach decoupling elements (13) from the center exhaust system (9)
6	Unfasten clamps (7, 8) of left catalytic converter (6) or right catalytic converter (5)	Engine 157, 278 in model 166 Engine 157, 278 in model 292 Bolt, exhaust system clamp to catalytic converter	*BA49.10-P-1012-01AK
7	Lower center exhaust system (9) until the left catalytic converter (6) and right catalytic converter (5) are free	Removal: Ensure that the end pieces of the rear muffler (12) do not touch the bumper.
8	Remove left (6) or right CAT (5)	Engine 157, 278 in model 166 Engine 157, 278 in model 292 Bolt, catalytic converter flange to exhaust line	*BA49.10-P-1015-01AK
	Clean
9	Remove combustion and corrosion residue at separating points
	Check
10	Check decoupling elements (13)	Check for wear and damage, and replace if necessary.
11	Install in the reverse order
	Check
12	Check installation position and unobstructed movement of all components of the exhaust system
	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
13	Perform an engine test run and check exhaust system for leaktightness
