Remove/Install Head-Up Display - AR54.30-P-6400GQ

Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
REMOVING Remove     
1 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m)    
2 Detach cover (1) from lower part (3) and remove SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 2
3 Remove screws/bolts (2) and take out head-up display far enough until electrical connector at projector (4) is accessible    
4 Release and disconnect electrical connector at projector (4)    
5 Remove screws/bolts (5) and remove projector (4) from lower part (3)    
INSTALLING Install     
6 Position projector (4) in lower part (3) and tighten screws/bolts (5) NOTES
Carefully tighten screws/bolts (5).
So as to prevent over-tightening, which could cause damage to the lower part (3).
 
7 Connect electrical connector at projector (4) and position lower part (3) with projector (4) in the cutout of the instrument panel NOTES
Ensure that the wiring harness and the electrical connector are routed correctly. So as to prevent damage and noise while driving.
 
8 Tighten screws/bolts (2) until the raised edge of lower part (3) fits flush around the instrument panel (arrows) IMPORTANT A flush threaded connection is not required.  
  Function test     
9 Switch on ignition and check whether the disk of head-up display gets extended IMPORTANT The disk must remain open.  
INSTALLING Install     
10.1 Clean bonding surfaces on upper part (1) If lower part (3) is replaced.
NOTES
The bonding surfaces should be free of dust, oil, grease, wax and other adhesive components or dirt residues.
Otherwise there may be adhesion problems.

10.2 Clean bonding surfaces on upper part (1) and lower part (3) If lower part (3) is not replaced.
NOTES
The bonding surfaces should be free of dust, oil, grease, wax and other adhesive components or dirt residues.
Otherwise there may be adhesion problems.

11 Stick adhesive strips to edge of lower part (3) If lower part (3) is not replaced.
Acrylic foam tape 5356 F
*BR00.45-Z-1126-02A 
12 Release upper protective foil (6) of adhesive strips only at the edge and place the ends over the edge of lower part (3)    
13 Position upper part (1) on lower part (3) and pull off upper protective foil (6) of adhesive strips outwards carefully, uniformly and smoothly    
14 Firmly press upper part (1) on lower part (3)    
15 Retract disk of head-up display again
