  1. Connect vehicle diagnosis system and start test routine.

    IMPORTANT Select Oil level measurement with ultrasound unit menu item in XENTRY.

    IMPORTANT Throughout the entire test, the parking brake must not be released and no other disturbance variables may be generated, that are not required for the work procedure. All of these factors lead to the measurement being aborted and a restart being required.

  2. Coat the sensor surfaces of the sensor (2) with couplant.
  3. Attach sensor (2) of oil level sensor to bore in oil pan (3).
  4. Read out transmission oil level on oil level sensor after venting routine is complete.

  5. Remove quick-release fastener (1) with SPECIAL TOOL oil thrower.
  6. Insert SPECIAL TOOL socket wrench into oil pan (3) and turn SPECIAL TOOL socket wrench to position 2 (Pos. 2).

    If transmission oil level is too high.

    IMPORTANT Drain transmission oil until specified value is displayed on oil level sensor.

  7. Insert SPECIAL TOOL socket wrench into oil pan (3), turn SPECIAL TOOL socket wrench to position 1 (Pos. 1) and detach SPECIAL TOOL socket wrench.

    If transmission oil level is too low.

    1. 8.1 If transmission oil level is too low. Transmission 725.0 (except 725.007/017/033/047) Attach oil dispenser to oil pan with SPECIAL TOOL adapter and pour in transmission oil.

      NOTES The oil dispenser filling pressure must not exceed 2 bar. Otherwise damage and leaks can occur at the transmission.

      IMPORTANT Pour in 50 ml of transmission oil for each mm deviation from specified oil level.

      Pour in additional 250 ml of transmission oil.

    2. 8.2 If transmission oil level is too low. Transmission 725.007/017/033/047 Attach oil dispenser to oil pan with SPECIAL TOOL adapter and pour in transmission oil.

      NOTES The oil dispenser filling pressure must not exceed 2 bar. Otherwise damage and leaks can occur at the transmission.

      IMPORTANT Pour in 50 ml of transmission oil for each mm deviation from specified oil level.

      Pour in additional 250 ml of transmission oil.

  8. Remove oil dispenser from oil pan (3) with SPECIAL TOOL adapter.

    If transmission oil level is too low.

    If transmission oil level is too high

    Continue with operation step  6.

  9. Turn SPECIAL TOOL socket wrench to position 1 (Pos. 1) and remove from oil pan (3).
  10. Screw quick-release fastener (1) into oil pan (3).
  11. Disconnect diagnostic device from vehicle.
