Remove/Install Steering Coupling - AR46.10-P-8000GQ

	Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts		AH00.00-N-0001-01A
	Remove/install
1	Deactivate easy entry/exit feature	Model 166, 292 with code 275 (Memory package)
2	Detach ground line from battery		AR54.10-P-0003GZ
3	Turn steering wheel to center position	The steering wheel must not be turned when the steering coupling (1) has been detached. Otherwise the clock spring contact will be destroyed.
4	Fix steering wheel in position using the holding device.	Front wheels in straight-ahead position. Retainer device	Fig 1
5	Remove cover (6)
6	Remove cover (7)
7.1	Remove ME-SFI [ME] control unit from bracket and place to one side with attached lines	Model 166 with engine 276.9 with code 468 (ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM)	AR07.08-P-7008GQ
7.2	Remove left-hand air filter housing	Model 166, 292 with engine 642 with code 468 (ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM)	AR09.10-P-1150OGR
8	Unscrew bolt (3)	Bolt, steering coupling to steering shaft	*BA46.10-P-1001-01J
9	Remove screw (5)	Bolt, steering coupling to rack-and-pinion steering	*BA46.10-P-1002-01J
10	Detach steering coupling (1) from rack-and-pinion steering (2)	Do not use force (hammer blows, excessive leverage). Otherwise the rack-and-pinion steering (2) will be damaged.	AR46.20-P-0600-01GZ
		The rack-and-pinion steering (2) must be at the center position in order to install the steering coupling (1).
11	Detach steering coupling (1) from steering shaft (4)
12	Remove steering coupling (1)
13	Install in the reverse order
