Location 

The hood lifters (1) are located left and right under the hinges of the hood (2).

Task 

The hood lifters (1) implement the pedestrian protection. The hood (2) is lifted at the back by approx. 8 cm when the squibs are triggered. The SRS control unit (N2/10) actuates the squibs directly.
