- Scribe separating point on paneling (1.2) and cut (area A).
Reference line is the edge (arrow) of the side wall separating point. Do not damage components below.
- Remove paneling section (1.2).
Section must be reinstalled later.
- Expose spot welds on outer C-pillar (1) and cut out (areas B1 , B2 , D1 , D2 and D3 ).
- Drill Ø 6.7 mm spot welds in outer C-pillar (1) (area C).
- Drill Ø 6.7 mm spot welds in outer C-pillar (1) (areas E1 and E2 ).
- Expose spot welds on outer C-pillar (1) and cut out (areas F1 , F2 , G1 , G2 and G3 ).
- Drill Ø 6.7 mm spot welds in inner rear side wall (2) (areas H1
, H2
and H3
).
- Scribe separating point on inner rear side wall (2) and cut (areas J2
and J3
).
The separation lines in area J2 and J3 should facilitate removal. Separating point can be selected freely.
- Expose spot welds on inner rear side wall (2) and cut out (areas J1 and K).
- Drill Ø 6.7 mm spot welds in inner rear side wall (2) (area I).
- Remove damaged outer C-pillar (1) and inner rear side wall (2).
- Remove section on inner rear side wall (2).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
