Location 

The HSM is located in the paneling of the rear bumper.

Task 

The rear switch module reads in the signals of the following sensors:

• Rear switching module up sensor (A87/1)
• Rear switching module down sensor (A87/2)

The rear switch module evaluates the sensor signals and transmits the appropriate requests to the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73).
