Location 

The fuel filler cap central locking system actuator is located on the tank filler recess on the lock side of the fuel filler flap.

Structure 

The following components are installed in the fuel filler cap central locking system actuator:

• Microswitch
• Actuator motor
• Catch bolt

Task 

The fuel filler cap central locking system actuator has the following tasks:

• Detection of opening request via the microswitch status when fuel filler flap is pressed
• Unlocking and locking of fuel filler flap via actuation of actuator motor

Depending on the vehicle, the central controller unit (SAM control unit (N10)) or rear SAM control unit (N10/8) reads in the status of the microswitch. After a successful unlocking, the SAM control unit or rear SAM control unit accordingly actuates the actuator motor.
