Connection scheme 

Routing diagram 

1. Stick Velcro strip (9) to control unit (7).
2. Stick felt tape (8) to control unit (7).
3. Connect black 18-pin coupling of wiring harness for voltage supply to control unit (7).
4. Stick control unit (7) using Velcro strip onto crossmember under the rear seat.
5. Detach and raise cable duct (10).
6. Route twisted brown line (BN) and brown/red line (BN/RD) of wiring harness for voltage supply from control unit (7) to right potential distributor (CAN) electrical connector (X30/4) and fix in place using cable ties.
7. Connect black 2-pin connector of twisted brown line (BN) and brown/red line (BN/RD) to right potential distributor (CAN) electrical connector (X30/4).
8. Route brown line (BN) of wiring harness for voltage supply from control unit (7) to rear seat crossmember ground point (W17/6) and fix in place using cable ties.
9. Connect brown line (BN) of wiring harness for voltage supply to rear seat crossmember ground point (W17/6)
10. Route red line (rd) of wiring harness for voltage supply from control unit (7) to rear fuse box (F4) and fix in place using cable ties.
11. Plug yellow fuse carrier (6.1) of red line into slot "123" at rear fuse box (F4).

    Slot "123" is labeled.

12. Insert fuse with 5 A fuse rating into yellow fuse carrier (6.1).
13. Plug jumper (14) into slot "i" at rear fuse box (F4).

    Slot "i" is labeled.

14. Route right line branch-off line of wiring harness for voltage supply (6) from control unit to wheel well and fix in place using cable ties.

    The right line branch-off line is the shorter line branch-off line of the wiring harness for the voltage supply (6).

15. Remove grommet (13).
16. Route left line branch-off line of wiring harness for voltage supply (6) from control unit to left rear door cutout and fix in place using cable ties.

    The left line branch-off line is the longer line branch-off line of the wiring harness for the voltage supply (6).

17. Fit grommet (5.1) to wiring harness for left wheel arch (5).

    Observe shown installation position.

18. Fit black 2-pin connector (5.2) to wiring harness of left wheel arch (5).

    Contact cavity assignment: contact cavity 1: white line, contact cavity 2: black line

19. Remove grommet (11) from left rear wheel arch.
20. Connect black 2-pin coupling (5.3) of wiring harness for left wheel arch (5) to black 2-pin connector (3.4) of wiring harness for LED lamps.
21. Route wiring harness for left wheel arch (5) through the passage in the wheel arch and seal with grommet (5.1).
22. Detach cover (12).
23. Make cut in covering (12) approx. 1.5 cm.

    The covering (12) must be cut far enough to enable the black 2-pin connector (5.2) to be passed through it.

24. Install cover (12).
25. Connect black 2-pin connector (5.2) of wiring harness for left wheel arch (5) to black 2-pin coupling (6.2)

    The black 2-pin coupling (6.2) is located on the left line branch-off line of the wiring harness for the voltage supply.

26. Wrap felt tape around black 2-pin connector (5.2) and the black 2-pin coupling (6.2).
27. Fasten black 2-pin connector (5.2) and the black 2-pin coupling (6.2) using cable ties to vehicle wiring harness.
28. Fit grommet (4.1) to wiring harness for right wheel arch (4).

    Observe shown installation position.

29. Fit black 2-pin connector (4.2) to wiring harness of right wheel arch (4).

    Contact cavity assignment: contact cavity 1: white line, contact cavity 2: black line

30. Connect black 2-pin coupling (4.3) of wiring harness for right wheel arch to black 2-pin connector (3.5) of wiring harness for LED lamps.
31. Route wiring harness for right wheel arch (4), as shown, to passage in wheel arch and fix in place using felt tape.

    Route wiring harness for right wheel arch (4) under tube of tank filler neck and the vent lines.

32. Route wiring harness for right wheel arch (4) through the passage in the wheel arch and seal with grommet (4.1).
33. Seal grommet (4.1) additionally with sealant.
34. Connect wiring harness for right wheel arch (4) to right line branch-off line of wiring harness for voltage supply (6).
