MODEL 166.8
The following operation steps describe installation in a left-hand drive vehicle. With right-hand drive vehicles these operation steps must be carried out mirror-inverted.
- Wrap felt tape around global positioning system (GPS) antenna line (18).
- Use felt tape to mask off underside of GPS antenna (retrofit) (A2/23).
- Remove backing film (39) from GPS antenna (retrofit) (A2/23).
- Stick GPS antenna (retrofit) (A2/23) in left ventilation shaft onto underside of instrument panel.
The GPS antenna (retrofit) (A2/23) is correctly mounted in the vehicle when the line output is facing the passenger side.
Care should be taken to ensure that there is no screening effect through metal above the GPS antenna (retrofit) (A2/23).
The area to be glued must be free of dust and grease.
- Route GPS antenna line (18) behind the installation opening of the audio component into the front passenger footwell and fix in place.
Do not crush or jam GPS antenna line (18). Otherwise a proper GPS signal cannot be assured.
The blue 1-pin connector for the GPS antenna is connected at a later stage to the Drive Kit Plus control unit.
