Connection scheme, Drive Kit Plus for the Apple iPhone 5 

The following operation steps describe installation in a left-hand drive vehicle. With right-hand drive vehicles, these operation steps must be carried out mirror-inverted.

1. 1.1 With CODE 512 (COMAND APS with DVD changer) or CODE 527 (COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation))

   Connect white 2-pin connector (19) of gray line and white 2-pin plug (20) of brown line.

2. 1.2 With CODE 510 (Audio 20 with CD changer) or CODE 523 (MB Audio 20 radio)

   Disconnect white 2-pin connector (19) of gray line and white 2-pin plug (20) of brown line and strap down with felt tape.

3. Except CODE 518 (Media Interface)

   Connect white 4-pin plug (21) with white 4-pin connector (22).

4. With CODE 518 (Media Interface)

   Disconnect white 4-pin plug (21) from white 4-pin connector (22) and strap down with felt tape.

5. With CODE 518 (Media Interface)

   Connect white 4-pin connector (22) and white 4-pin plug (23) of Drive Kit Plus Media Interface adapter line (27).

6. Attach double-sided adhesive tape (17) to rear side of Drive Kit Plus control unit (1).

   Leave the carrier foil on the double-sided adhesive tape.

7. Connect black 18-pin connector (5) of Drive Kit Plus adapter wiring harness (3) to Drive Kit Plus control unit (1).
8. Connect blue 4-pin connector (15.2) of LVDS head unit wiring harness (15) to Drive Kit Plus control unit (1).
9. Connect white 4-pin connector (16.2) of LVDS display wiring harness (16) to Drive Kit Plus control unit (1).
10. Connect black, angled connection line connector (45) to Drive Kit Plus control unit (1).
11. Connect black data line connector (46) to Drive Kit Plus control unit (1).

    Black data line connector (46) must audibly engage into Drive Kit Plus control unit (1).

12. With CODE 510 (Audio 20 with CD changer) or CODE 523 (MB Audio 20 radio)

    Connect blue 1-pin GPS antenna connector (18.1) of GPS antenna line (18) to Drive Kit Plus control unit (1).

13. Detach backing foil of double-sided adhesive tape and stick Drive Kit Plus control unit (1), as shown, onto the transmission tunnel.

    The drain hose for the air conditioner housing must not be kinked or pinched.

    Otherwise the air conditioning system's condensation drain may be impaired. The contact surface must be free of dust and grease.

14. Strap down extended lengths of Drive Kit Plus adapter wiring harness, LVDS head unit wiring harness and the LVDS display wiring harness, and fix in place using felt tape (24).

    The data line and the connection line for the Drive Kit Plus connection wiring harness are fixed in place using cable ties after installing the glove compartment.
