The following operation steps describe installation in a left-hand drive vehicle. With right-hand drive vehicles, these operation steps must be carried out mirror-inverted.

1. Open glove compartment (25).
2. Remove intermediate bottom from glove compartment (25).
3. Make markings for drill hole center points for cutout at glove compartment (25).

   Dimensions: 

   a = 24 mm

   b = 114 mm

   c = 126 mm

4. Drill two holes with a diameter of 15 mm to match the markings.
5. Use file to make an oval-shaped cutout.
6. Cut out intermediate bottom (29) in cross-hatched area to match cutout as made.

   Clarify with the customer whether the iPhone cradle (30) is to be installed.

7. Clean underside of iPhone cradle (30).
8. Remove carrier foil from Velcro dots (30.1).
9. Fix Velcro dots (30.1) onto the underside of iPhone cradle (30).
10. Attach felt dots (30.2) to Velcro dots (30.1).

    Do not remove the carrier foil of the felt dots (30.2) until just before mounting in the glove compartment. Otherwise there may be adhesion problems.

11. Clean inside area of glove compartment (25).
12. Install intermediate bottom (29).
13. Place connection line (40) and data line (42) in glove compartment (25) and route outwards through previously made cutout.
14. Install grommet (40.2) in the cutout.
15. Stick iPhone cradle (30) onto intermediate bottom (29).

    Choose the position for the iPhone cradle (30) so that the connection line (40) and the data line (42) are not kinked, and that the cutout for the iPhone connector (28) is located in area of the iPhone cradle (30) facing the driver side.

16. Route connection line (40) and data line (42) along air duct (12), and fix in place using cable ties (13).
17. Place the connection line between the Bluetooth module and the Drive Kit Plus control unit in the front, left area of the front passenger footwell.

    With retrofitting of the Drive Kit Plus for the Apple iPhone 5.

    The connection line is connected at a later stage to the Bluetooth module and the Drive Kit Plus control unit.

18. Place glove compartment (25) in front passenger footwell.
