Location 

The WSS control unit is located at the bottom of the seat frame of the front passenger seat.

Task 

The WSS control unit determines the weight applied to the front passenger seat by means of a pressure measurement in a seat mat filled with silicone. The WSS control unit sends information on the weight classification over the seat occupancy LIN (LIN E2) to the supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10).
