General 

The seat adjustment is used to adapt the seat to the body size of the respective vehicle occupants. A correct seat position ensures seat comfort and safety for the vehicle occupants.

The seat adjustment is conducted mechanically or electrically depending on the model and equipment installed. Depending on the equipment installed in the vehicle, some of the adjustment options in the electrical seat adjustment may be mechanical.

Depending on the equipment involved, the seat adjustment also includes components that enhance comfort, such as, e.g. massage function or lumbar support adjustment, for individual adaptation of seat backrest padding for vehicle occupants.

Mechanical seat adjustment function 

The mechanical seat adjustment is adjusted by lever or handwheels. The following seat adjustments can be conducted mechanically:

• Seat longitudinal direction
• Seat cushion length
• Seat cushion inclination
• Seat height
• Backrest inclination
• Head restraint height
• Head restraint inclination
