The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle in model 205.2. This must be similarly performed for damage to the right side of the vehicle.
- Install rear fender (1) and fit.
- Install rear bumper.
- Install tail lamp.
- Install door seal.
- Install striker eye.
- Check and adjust gap dimensions.
- Fix rear fender (1) in place.
- Remove striker eye.
- Remove door seal.
- Remove tail lamp.
- Remove rear bumper.
- Drill rivet holes on rear fender (1) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (area A).
- Model 205.2
Drill rivet holes on rear fender (1) with Ø 6.7 mm bit (area J).
- Remove rear fender (1).
- Deburr rivet holes on rear fender (1) and body on both sides.
- Coat with zinc dust paint insides of those riveted joints that will not be bonded.
- Install suitable spacers on outer rear wheel well at uniform intervals (area B1 ).
- Apply sealant to outer rear wheel well and foam parts (areas B1 and C).

Apply sealant to D-pillar (area B2 ).
Apply sealant up to max. 20 mm from cutting edge.
- Model 205.2
Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas (area D).
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces Observe manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of adhesive.
- Install rear fender (1) and fix in place.
- Rivet rear fender (1) with Ø 6.4x12 rivet (area E).

Perform inert gas welding at intervals and allow to cool down in between. This reduces heat distortion.
- Grind inert gas welds down flat (areas K, L and M).
- Solder surfaces on rear fender (1) with body solder and smooth (areas K, L and M).
Alternatively to restorage of the surfaces with body solder, it is also possible to use a body basic spatula.
