Model 253
Model 293
The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 205 and must be performed in the same way on the right side in the event of damage.
- Mark separating point on upper front longitudinal member (1) and cut (area A).
Transfer separation point from vehicle (area A).
- Model 205
Model 213
Mark separating point on upper front longitudinal member (1) and cut (area B).
Separate sheet metal flange flush with upper front longitudinal member (1) (area B) for overlapping.
- Grind mating surfaces on upper front longitudinal member (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
Grind upper front longitudinal member (1) down to bare metal at inside (area D).
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Bonding surfaces may not be coated with zinc dust paint (area C and D).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
