The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 205.2 and must be performed on the right side in the same way in the event of damage.
- Mark separating points on inner side wall (1) and separate (areas A and B).
Do not cut too deeply.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

- Expose spot welds on inner side wall (1) and cut off (areas C and D).
Cut out spot welds through two sheet metal thicknesses (area D).
- Expose spot welds on inner side wall (1) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (area E).

Expose spot welds on inner side wall (1) and cut out (area F).

Expose spot welds on inner side wall (1) and cut out (area K).
- Heat inner side wall (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove inner sidewall (1).
- Model 205.2
Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in crosshatched areas on both sides (area J).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area H).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

Sand down to bare metal connection surfaces in the cross-hatched areas on both sides.

Remove grinding dust and drill chips.

Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
