REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove rear axle shaft (37a) Model 205 (except 205.386/387/486/487), 253 (except 253.388/389/988/989/992/993) AR35.30-P-0621LW 
    Model 253.992/993 AR35.30-P-0621RFW
    Model 205.386/387/486/487
Model 253.388/389/988/989
IMPORTANT Because a repair is only possible on certain rear axle shafts (37a), the availability of a repair kit should be checked in the EPC beforehand!
AR35.30-P-0621MNA 
2 Clamp rear axle shaft (37a) using protective jaws in vise    
3 Remove clamp (37k)    
4 Remove cup seal (37i) from inner joint ring (37c) or outer joint ring (37b)   AR35.30-P-0662-01LW 
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Filling capacity for joint housing *BF35.30-P-1001-01G 
5 Dismantle constant-velocity joint   AR35.30-P-0662-03LW 
6 Press off joint hub (37d) from rear axle shaft (37a)   AR35.30-P-0662-02LW 
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS Shell halves (2 ea.) for pressing off and caulking the inner constant velocity joint   WF58.50-P-3530-01A
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS Staking tool for securing joint hub on rear halfshaft   WF58.50-P-3530-07P
    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools

    FLUID SPECIFICATION Drift Fig 1
7 Remove boot (37l) of opposite constant velocity joint If necessary.
IMPORTANT Boot (37l) can be pulled off over the rear axle shaft (37a).
 
INSPECT Check     
8 Check constant velocity joints for wear   AR35.30-P-0662-03LW 
    If outer constant velocity joint is defective

replace rear axle shaft (37a).
 
9 Install in the reverse order
