WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.
Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp Vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred Vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove center and rear lower engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105LW
2 Remove electrical connector (7) from bracket (6)    
3 Release and disconnect electrical connection (7)    
4 Unclip electrical line of lambda sensor on right after catalytic converter (G3/6)    
5 Remove right air filter housing   AR09.10-P-1152MNG
6 Remove cover (2)    
7 Remove cover (3)    
8 Remove lambda sensor on right after catalytic converter (G3/6)    
Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths AH00.00-P-0015-01CW
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Coat thread of right lambda sensor downstream of catalytic converter (G3/6 with heat-resistant lubricating paste.
IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools  22 mm lambda sensor socket
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Oxygen sensor downstream of catalytic converter to exhaust system at front *BA14.00-P-1002-02B 
Paste, hot lubrication 1 kg, DBL 6879.20 *BR00.45-Z-1005-06A 
9 Cover sensor tip of right lambda sensor downstream of catalytic converter (G3/6) with a protective cover When reusing lambda sensor on right after catalytic converter (G3/6).  
SPECIAL TOOL Set of protective caps Figure
10 Seal threaded hole of right lambda sensor downstream of catalytic converter (G3/6) with a suitable stop plug SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Figure
11 Install in the reverse order    
12 Read out and erase fault memory REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS AD00.00-P-2000-04B
WARNING Risk of accident  from Vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure Vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
13 Perform an engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leaktightness
