  Risk of fire  /risk of explosion due to short circuit and escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of (burn) injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte/mist, short circuit and arcing. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte or absorption of lead through the skin or body orifices. Risk of death  due to voltage U >= 30 V AC and U >= 60 V DC. No fires, sparks, open flames, or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing, and glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m) NOTES
All electrical consumers must be switched off. Otherwise, they may be damaged when the ground line (1) is disconnected/connected.
 
2.1 Remove dust filter with air duct segment Model 238
except code B01 (48V technology)
 
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP83.00-P-8381C
2.2 Remove trunk floor and trunk recess cover Model 238
with code B01 (48V technology)
 
      AR68.30-P-4600LWO
3 Disconnect charger of on-board electrical system battery (G1). When an external charger is connected.  
      AR54.10-P-1130LW
4 Disconnect diagnostic unit. If a diagnostic device is connected.  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06LWO
5 Release nut (2) and remove ground line (1) from negative pole of on-board electrical system battery (G1) ASSEMBLING Nut, electrical line to negative terminal/positive terminal of on-board electrical system battery *BA54.10-P-1004-01A 
6 Connect in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
7 Check time display If the time is not correct.

Set time.
