Remove/Install Rear Spring - AR32.20-P-0230GW

Model 463 as of model year 2013 up to model year 2019 

MODIFICATION NOTES

10.03.2020 Bolt, shock absorber to rear axle Model 460, model 461 with code XG0 (6200 kg permissible gross mass), model 463 up to model year 2019 BA32.25-P-1001-03E

CAUTION Risk of poisoning  from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  from skin and eye contact Wear with brake fluid Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Lift/jack up vehicle Lift/jack up vehicle AR00.60-P-1000G
2 Remove rear wheels    
3 Detach linkage of headlamp range control level sensor from trailing arm IMPORTANT When removing the spring on the left side.  
4 Support rear axle and secure to prevent it from falling    
5 Disconnect brake and hydraulic lines (4) from rear axle NOTES The expansion reservoir for the brake fluid must not be allowed to run empty. Dripping brake fluid causes paint damage. Otherwise difficulties may be encountered when bleeding.
IMPORTANT Seal off connections immediately using stop plugs.
SPECIAL TOOL Record plug

6 Detach electrical lines (7) at brackets    
7 Unscrew nuts (1) from shock absorbers (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, shock absorber to rear axle *BA32.25-P-1001-03E 
8 Pull bolts out of dampers (2)    
9 Lower rear axle IMPORTANT Only lower the rear axle until the rear spring (3) can be removed.  
10 Remove rear spring (3) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Check plastic hose (6) on rear spring (3) for damage and replace if necessary. Ensure rear spring (3) is seated correctly.  
11 Install in the reverse order    
12 Bleed brake system and check for proper operation and leaktightness Bleed differential lock hydraulic system Bleed brake system Model 463 (except 463.270/271) as of model year 2013 up to model year 2019 AR42.10-P-0010GW
13 Bleed differential lock hydraulic system Bleed differential lock hydraulic system AR33.40-P-0701GW
