Remove/Install Rear Axle Drive Flange At Drive Pinion - AR35.30-P-0472GW

	Removing
1	Lift/jack up vehicle		AR00.60-P-1000G
2	Detach propeller shaft from drive flange (1)	Mark position of propeller shaft relative to drive flange (1). Tie up propeller shaft to one side of the frame.

3	Remove rear wheels		AP40.10-P-4050G
	Measure
4	Measure and note friction torque	Each time the drive flange (1) is removed, the friction torque of the complete axle (without wheels) should be measured. The brake must be released for this.

5	Unlock and remove collar nut (2)	Retainer Wrench	Fig 5

6	Pull off drive flange (1)	Mark the drive flange (1) relative to the drive pinion.
		Under no circumstances should the drive flange (1) be removed with the aid of heavy hammer blows. This will damage the bearings.

	Checking
7	Check drive flange (1) for damage and score marks, replace if necessary
	Install
8	Install drive flange (1)	Pay attention to identification applied.
9	Install new collar nut (2) and tighten until the friction torque noted previously is reached	The friction torque must never be adjusted by turning back the collar nut (2). If the collar nut (2) is overtightened the compression ring will be compressed excessively and then has to be replaced.
		↓
		Remove/install drive pinion.	AR35.30-P-0458GW
		By alternately tightening the collar nut (2) and measuring the friction torque, gradually approach the friction torque noted and measured previously. The new friction torque to be adjusted should be 0.5 Nm above this.

10	Check smooth operation of drive flange (1) and adjust if necessary		AR35.30-P-4671GW
11	Secure collar nut (2)	Shear off the locking collar of the collar nut (2) and bend in to the base of the groove. The locking tab must contact the left flank of the locking groove.
12	Fit rear wheels		AP40.10-P-4050G
13	Mount propeller shaft on drive flange (1)	Replace self-locking nuts. Observe marked position of propeller shaft relative to drive flange (1).
