1. Visually inspect tie rods and steering control arms for undamaged condition and proper attachment.
2. Have an assistant turn the steering wheel alternately to the left and right at short intervals. While this is happening, measure the play in the ball heads (1) and levers (2) of the drag link and tie rod with dial indicator .

   A play of max. 1.3 mm may be present between the ball heads (1) and levers (2). If the play is greater than 1.3 mm, replace affected ball head (1) or complete drag link or tie rod, subject to separate repair order.
