Remove/Install Low-Temperature Circuit Expansion Reservoir - AR09.41-P-0001XGC

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. AS20.00-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).    
2 Remove upper engine cover. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Do not install the upper engine cover until an engine test run has been performed. AR01.10-P-2405XGC
3 Remove cap (2).    
4 Clamp off coolant hose (4). SPECIAL TOOL Clamp Fig 3
5 Suction coolant out of low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir (1). FLUID SPECIFICATION Cooling system *BF20.00-P-1001-02LA 
    SPECIAL TOOL Hand pump Fig 2
6 Pull the low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir (1) upwards out of the elastomer bearings. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Wet elastomer bearings with lubricating paste.
Antifriction paste, rubber parts 2.5 kg, DBL 6867.00

7 Remove coolant hoses (3, 4) from the low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir (1) and seal the opening on the coolant hose (3) with a suitable stop plug.   AR09.41-P-1311-01AL 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 4
8 Remove the low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir (1).    
9 Check the elastomer bearings of the low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir (1) for damage. If there are problems,
Replace relevant elastomer bearing(s).
 
10 Install in the reverse order.    
11 Check the coolant level in the low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir (1), and correct it if necessary. FLUID SPECIFICATION Cooling system *BF20.00-P-1001-02LA 
12 Perform a ventilation routine on the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
13 Check low-temperature circuit for leak tightness.   AR09.41-P-1011XGA 
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
14 Perform an engine test run and in doing so check low-temperature circuit for proper function.    
15 Install upper engine cover.   AR01.10-P-2405XGC
