Do not remove protective covers too soon from the optical fiber connector (3) or the device connection (4). Do not kink fiber-optic cable, do not route over sharp edges or bend in radiuses smaller than 25 mm, as otherwise the fiber-optic cable core will turn yellow and break. Yellow or broken fiber-optic cables dampen the light.

The work procedure is shown here on digital data bus components (D2B).

1. Carefully disconnect fiber-optic cable coupling (3) of fiber-optic cable from device connection (4) and cover up with protective cap (1), stop plug (2) or a clean rag.

   The protective cap (1) and stop plug (2) for the digital data bus (D2B) components are not available separately. The protective caps (1) and stop plugs (2) for the installed replacement parts must be used. The components of the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) must be covered up with clean rags, as generally they do not have protective caps (1) and stop plugs (2) fitted to them.
