Remove 

IMPORTANT Always replace the elastomer bearings (1) in pairs.

The following tools are required from the SPECIAL TOOL extraction and insertion tool:

  1. Mark installation position of respective elastomer bearing (1) at cutout (arrow).
  2. Attach SPECIAL TOOL thrust piece (01), SPECIAL TOOL counterholder (02), SPECIAL TOOL thrust spindle (05) and SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (012) with the SPECIAL TOOL hollow cylinder (015) and SPECIAL TOOL retaining belt (014) at elastomer bearing (1).

    IMPORTANT The SPECIAL TOOL retaining belt (014) must be routed behind the SPECIAL TOOL thrust piece (01) in order to prevent the SPECIAL TOOL hollow cylinder (015) from dropping down when the elastomer bearing (1) is pressed out.

  3. Connect the SPECIAL TOOL hand pump using SPECIAL TOOL hydraulic hose (013) to SPECIAL TOOL hollow cylinder (015).
  4. Press elastomer bearing (1) out of rear axle carrier (4).
  5. Remove guide pin (2) of elastomer bearing (1) from bearing support on underbody.

    If necessary.

    Install 

    IMPORTANT The following tools are required from the SPECIAL TOOL extraction and insertion tool:

    • SPECIAL TOOL thrust piece (03) 204 589 00 43 03
    • SPECIAL TOOL counterholder (04) 204 589 00 43 04
    • SPECIAL TOOL thrust spindle (05) 204 589 00 43 05
    • SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (012) 204 589 00 43 12
  6. Make a true vertical mark (arrow) as a guide on elastomer bearing (1).
  7. Coat elastomer bearing (1) with lubricant.
  8. Attach SPECIAL TOOL thrust piece (03), SPECIAL TOOL counterholder (04), SPECIAL TOOL thrust spindle (05), SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (012) and elastomer bearing (1) with SPECIAL TOOL hollow cylinder (015) and SPECIAL TOOL retaining belt (014) at rear axle carrier (4).
  9. Align true vertical mark (arrow) on elastomer bearing (1) with the mark on the rear axle carrier (4).
  10. Press elastomer bearing (1) into rear axle carrier (4).
  11. Remove special tools.
