General
The electric differential lock control unit actuates the multiplate clutch of the differential lock via the differential lock actuator.
Function requirements
- Wheel speed signal present
- Drivetrain operational signal
- Ignition ON (circuit 15)
Function
The electronic differential control unit actuates the actuator. When the actuator is actuated, the electronic differential lock closes.
The Hall sensor integrated into the actuator reports back the position, and the temperature sensor (also integrated) reports back the temperature of the actuator to the ESP® control unit. Via the same route, the control unit sends the locking ratio as well as the status of the actuator back to the ESP® control unit.
The electric differential lock temperature sensor continuously measures the oil temperature.
