MODIFICATION NOTES

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove upper engine cover   AR01.10-P-2405MNE
2 Remove engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105LWE
  Drain off     
3 Remove the cap at the low-temperature circuit expansion tank    
4 Remove the coolant hose (1) at the low-temperature circuit radiator and drain contents to a suitable container   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
5 Install the coolant hose (1) on the low-temperature circuit radiator   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
6 Remove the coolant hose (2) at the low-temperature circuit radiator in the left-hand wheel arch and drain contents to a suitable container   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
7 Install the coolant hose (2) on the low-temperature circuit radiator in the left-hand wheel arch   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
8 Remove the coolant hose (3) at the oil cooler (4) and drain coolant to a suitable container   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
9 Install the coolant hose (3) on the oil cooler (4)   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
  Pour in     
10 Fill clean coolant and bleed the low-temperature circuit engine cooling circuit   AR20.00-P-1142-04A

SPECIAL TOOL Electric vacuum pump Fig 3

Run the engine management control unit (MCM) bleeding routine   AD00.00-P-2000-04B
INSPECT Check     
12 Check low-temperature circuit for leaktightness   AR09.41-P-1011MNE
INSTALLING Install     
13 Install lower engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105LWE
14 Install upper engine cover   AR01.10-P-2405MNE
