Separate Center Roof Paneling - AR65.10-P-1000-02LWT

except code 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof) 

  1. Insert spacer blocks at undamaged side between center roof paneling (1) and side roof paneling and adjust dimension.

    IMPORTANT When installing the center roof paneling (1) can be fitted with the adjusted spacer blocks.

  2. Mark positions on vehicle and write down dimensions of spacer blocks.
  3. Determine dimensions between outer edge of center roof paneling (1) to outer edge of front and rear roof carrier.
  4. Mark positions of measuring points on vehicle and note dimensions.
  5. Expose spot welds on center roof paneling (1) and cut out (areas A, B1 and B3 ).

  6. Expose spot welds on center roof paneling (1) and drill out with Ø 6.5 mm bit (areas B).
  7. Expose spot welds on center roof paneling (1) and cut out (areas C).

  8. Cut bonds between center roof paneling (1) and roof frame (area E1 ).
  9. Heat center roof paneling (1) in cross-hatched areas and remove (areas D, E2 and F).

    NOTES Do not exceed a temperature of 120°C.

    Otherwise the structure of the adhesive areas below can change.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded (areas D, E2 and F).

  10. Remove remaining adhesive from body (areas H).

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  11. Paint damaged areas with primer (areas H).
  12. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in crosshatched areas (areas K).

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  13. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  14. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas G).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
