	Remove/install
1	Remove upper engine cover	Install upper engine cover only after checking for leaks.
2	Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air filter
3	Remove soundproofing	Engine 274.9 in model 213 except code 920 (Direct petrol injection with stratified charging) Engine 274.9 in model 238 except code 920 (Direct petrol injection with stratified charging)	AR94.30-P-5410MRD
4	Detach vacuum hose (4) from vacuum pump (1)
5	Detach vacuum line to brake booster from vacuum pump (1)
6	Unscrew bolts (3) and remove vacuum pump (1)	install a new seal (2). Observe position of vacuum pump (1) driver. Bolt, vacuum pump to cylinder head/cylinder head cover	*BA43.05-P-1001-01K
	Clean
7	Clean sealing surfaces	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
	Check
8	Check sealing surfaces for damage	If a problem arises ↓ Replace cylinder head or vacuum pump (1) Remove cylinder head	AR01.30-P-5800MRD
9	Install in the reverse order
10	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Perform an engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leak tightness	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
