Position puller (1) with mounted puller arms (2) on intermediate shaft (5) and deep-groove ball bearing (4).
Position thrust piece (3) between puller (1) and intermediate shaft (5).
Tighten puller (1) until grooved ball bearing (4) can be removed from intermediate shaft (5).
Clean bearing seat of intermediate shaft (5) using a clean rag and check for damage.
If the bearing seat is damaged,

install a new intermediate shaft (5).
Position deep-groove ball bearing (4) onto intermediate shaft (5) and press on using drift up to length measurement (a) is reached.
Replace deep-groove ball bearing (4).

Pay attention to installation position.
Check that grooved ball bearing (4) is seated correctly.
