Remove/install additional battery - AR54.10-P-0007NKB

MODEL 117, 156, 246 up to model year 2015 with CODE B03 (ECO start/stop function) 

MODEL 176 up to model year 2015 with CODE B03 (ECO start/stop function) 

MODEL 242 with engine 270 up to model year 2015 with CODE B03 (ECO start/stop function)

DANGER Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Move front passenger seat toward rear    
2 Switch off ignition and keep transmitter key at a location beyond transmitter range (at least 2 m)    
3 Fold back floor covering (1) in front passenger footwell    
4 Release locks (arrows A) and remove cover (3)    
5 Release locks (2.1) and remove additional battery cover (2) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT On the cover for the additional battery (2) the rear guides (arrows B) must be hooked-in first.  
6 Remove bolt (5.1) and remove together with ground line (5) from additional battery for ECO start/stop function (G1/13) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt (5.1) remains on ground line (5).  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, battery cable to battery terminal on additional battery *BA54.10-P-1005-01I 
7 Using diode test lamp, check on-board electrical system for voltage between positive line (4) of ECO start/stop function additional battery (G113) and the disconnected ground line (5) IMPORTANT If the diode test lamp lights up, the on-board electrical system is still active because of a defect in the electrical system.  
8 Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery Only when the diode test lamp lights up.

9 Remove bolt (4.1) and remove together with positive line (4) from additional battery for ECO start/stop function (G1/13) IMPORTANT Bolt (4.1) remains on positive line (4).  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, battery cable to battery terminal on additional battery *BA54.10-P-1005-01I 
10 Detach bleed hose (6) from additional battery for ECO start/stop function (G1/13) and place to one side INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The vent hose (6) must be routed without any kinks in it.  
11 Remove ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13) from battery box    
12 Install in the reverse order
