	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

	Remove/install
1	Move selector lever to position "N"
2	Release parking brake
3	Detach ground line from battery		AR54.10-P-0003RK
4	Remove engine compartment paneling		AR61.20-P-1105RK
5	Remove rear engine cross member (2)		AR22.10-P-4360RKA
6	Mark position of front flexible coupling to transmission output flange (1) and the propeller shaft	The marking is necessary to ensure that the factory installation position can be restored again when installed. Otherwise the drive line may suffer from vibrations.
7	Detach drive shaft at transmission (1)		AR41.10-P-0050RK

10	Lower transmission (1) slightly	The engine must not touch the firewall when being lowered. Otherwise, there could be damage to the coolant hoses and the engine wiring harness.
11	Detach electrical connector from Intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80)
12	Remove bolts (4) from intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80)	Replace screws/bolts (4). Standard bolt/hexagon-spacer bolt, shift module (ISM) to transmission housing	*BA27.40-P-1021-01A
13	Remove intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80) with vent hose	When reusing the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80) do not detach the vent hose. Otherwise there may be leakages in the connecting points, with resulting water entry. The positions of the range selector shaft (5) and the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80) must line up. If necessary, the range selector shaft (5) can be twisted correspondingly when reusing the removed intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80). Assembly tool	Fig 3
14	Replace bleed hose	When replacing the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80).
15	Rotate the range selector shaft (5) of the transmission (1) counterclockwise up to the end stop at position "D" (arrow)	When replacing the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80). In its as-delivered state, the new intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80) is set to position "D" (arrow).
	Check
16	Check sealing ring of range selector shaft (5)	If leaky or damaged ↓ Replace sealing ring	AR27.40-P-0220A
17	Install in the reverse order
18	Connect diagnostic system, read out fault memory and conduct initial startup of the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80)	When replacing the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80).
