	Remove
	Risk of injury  caused by body parts being trapped or crushed when working on a partially open Vario roof (in stop mode) or in its closing area as a result of the Vario roof suddenly collapsing	Secure Vario roof with a suitable special tool.	AS77.50-Z-0001-01A
1	Move Vario roof into intermediate position with the vario roof switch (S84s1)	Position of C-pillar top sections (2) vertical. Leave ignition switched on. The Vario roof remains in this position for approx. 7 min. in the stop mode. After approx. 7 min, the Vario roof automatically lowers into the trunk. The stop mode can be increased by momentarily actuating the Vario roof actuation switch (S84s1) for another 7 minutes.

3	Remove paneling (3) from C-pillar upper section (2)		AR77.50-P-6763W

4	Unclip paneling (5, 6) and remove
5	Separate water drain hose from seal (1) at bottom rear (arrow) from water drain funnel (8)
6	Slide seal (1) up 10 mm at flange on rear window side and unhook from C-pillar top section (2) (arrow A)
7	Remove seal (1) from flange in rear window side from C-pillar top section (2) and pull water drain funnel (8) on seal (1) out of C-pillar top section (2)
8	Loosen seal (1) toward front at lower flange and remove from C-pillar top section (2) (arrow C)	The removed seal (1) is no longer required.
	Clean
9	Thoroughly clean sealing surfaces of C-pillar top section (2)	The sealing surfaces must be free of oil and grease. Otherwise leakage is possible. Observe air drying time for cleaning agent. Cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1025-04A
	Install
10	Position new seal (1) starting at C-pillar top section (2) at front bottom (arrow C), hook pin (9) into cutout (arrow H) and hole (10) in pin (arrow J)
11	Slide seal (1) on C-pillar top section (2) along assembly rail (arrows D) in direction of water drain funnel (8)
12	Press water drain funnel (8) on seal (1) into hole (11)	Ensure that groove (arrow F) on water drain funnel (8) arrest correctly on edge of hole (arrow E).
13	Hook seal (1) into pins (arrow G)
14	Slide seal (1) on side of rear window flange on C-pillar top section (2) upward (arrow C)
15	Clip in (7) on seal (1) into retaining rail on upper flange of C-pillar top section (2) by hand and hook sealing lip (12) into upper area (arrow A)
16	Install paneling (3) on C-pillar top section (2)		AR77.50-P-6763W

17	Install water drain hose at bottom rear (arrow B) on water drain funnel (8)
18	Remove support (4)	Helper required to support Vario roof.
19	Completely close Vario roof with Vario roof control switch (S84s1)
20	Visually check seal seating (1), parallel course and lip contact (wave formation)
21	Perform rain test
