DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Open luggage compartment lid    
2 Remove refrigerator box in trunk MODEL 222.0/1/9
with CODE 308 (Refrigerated compartment)
 
3.1 Unscrew bolts (8) from brackets (7) MODEL 222.0/9, 222.1 (except 222.163)  
3.2 Unscrew bolts (18) from brackets (19) MODEL 222.163  
4 Remove trunk floor lining (1)    
5 Remove expansion rivets (16)    
6 Remove load compartment well (15)    
7 Remove expansion rivets (9)    
8 Unclip rear center section paneling (2) upward    
9.1 Remove expansion rivet (14) from partition wall panel (5) MODEL 222.0/1/9
without CODE 282 (Ski and snowboard bag)
without CODE 308 (Refrigerated compartment)
 
9.2 Unscrew bolts (13) from through-loading feature (6), remove through-loading feature (6) MODEL 222.0/1/9
with CODE 282 (Ski and snowboard bag)
with CODE 308 (Refrigerated compartment)
 
10 Remove partition wall panel (5)    
11 Remove expansion rivet (21) from left paneling (4)    
12 Remove left paneling (4) and disconnect electrical connector (10)    
13 Remove left paneling (4)    
14 Remove high voltage battery module paneling (17) MODEL 222.163  
15 Remove expansion rivet (20) from right paneling (3)    
16 Unclip cover with trailer hitch switch from right paneling (3) MODEL 222.0/1
with CODE 550 (Trailer coupling)
 
17 Disconnect electrical connectors from trailer hitch switch MODEL 222.0/1
with CODE 550 (Trailer coupling)
 
18 Remove right paneling (3) and disconnect electrical connectors (10, 12)    
19 Remove right paneling (3)    
20 Install in the reverse order
