1. Remove banjo bolts (1).
2. Seal exposed openings and connections using suitable stop plugs.
3. Remove screws (3) and remove oil line (2).
4. Remove screw (4) and remove drive shaft flange (6) from differential housing.

   The opposite drive shaft flange remains in the transmission.

5. Remove screws (5) and remove differential housing cover with differential from differential housing.

   Make sure that the differential does not fall down.

   Otherwise the differential can be damaged.

   The differential is not connected to the differential housing cover.

6. Remove screws (9) and remove retaining plate.
7. Transmission 700.40 in model 190.378/379/381/478/479 Attach guide pin of socket wrench to centering pin.
8. Position socket wrench on threaded bushing (10) and remove threaded bushing (10).

   Cover the working area in the differential housing using suitable means.

   Otherwise the differential housing can be damaged when removing the threaded bushing (10).
