REPAIR MATERIALS

Screw threaded bushing (10) lightly by hand into differential housing.
Transmission 700.40 in model 190.378/379/381/478/479 Attach guide pin of socket wrench to centering pin.
Tighten threaded bushing (10) using socket wrench .
Install retaining plate in differential housing and screw in screws (9) far enough so that the retaining plate can still be moved.
Press retaining plate onto threaded bushing (10) and tighten screws (9) .

Check pilot bushing (6) for damage.
If problems exist,

Replace pilot bushing (6).
Replace sealing ring (7) of hydraulic oil duct and moisten with oil.
Replace sealing ring (8) of differential housing cover.
Clean thread on left drive shaft flange.
Insert left drive shaft flange into differential housing.
Insert differential housing cover with differential into differential housing.
The left drive shaft flange serves as an assembly aid for the differential.

Ensure that pilot bushing, sealing ring (8) and sealing ring (7) of hydraulic oil duct are seated correctly.

Coat screws (1 to 11) with thread locking agent and tighten lightly by hand.
Tighten screws (1 to 11) in numerical sequence .

Attach oil line (2) to transmission housing and tighten banjo bolts (1) lightly by hand.
Replace sealing rings of oil line (2).
Tighten bolts (3).
Tighten banjo bolts (1) .
Install drive shaft flange (6) into differential housing and tighten screw (4) .
Replace screw (4).
