1. Seal oil cooler connections (7, 4 each) with stop plugs.

   Where the stop plugs are not available after removing the transmission.

2. Seal gearshift system hydraulic unit plug (9), clutch hydraulic unit plug (10) and RPM sensor connector (11) with stop plugs.
3. Clean transmission housing.

4. Detach breather caps (8, 2 pieces) and check whether all 4 segments (4) of the lock are present in each breather cap (8).

   If the segments are not all present, the missing segments must be removed from the oil reservoir in the differential housing. Even the smallest foreign objects in the transmission can lead to malfunctions and a total failure of or damage to the transmission.

5. Seal breather openings using stop plugs.

   Replace breather caps (8).

6. Attach lifting device (010) to transmission housing (1).

   Use holes (b) on lifting device (010).

   Otherwise the transmission will not be hung from its center of gravity when lifted.

   Use fastening points (a) on transmission housing (1).

7. Attach support fixture (020) to transmission housing (1).

   Use fastening points (c) on transmission housing (1).

8. Attach transmission housing to assembly stand (030) using hoisting crane.

   With the assembly stand (030) from the Weitner company, use the holes (d) of the support fixture (020). With the assembly stand (030) from the Schairer company, use the holes (e) of the support fixture (020).

9. Drain hydraulic fluid, to do so, remove drain screw (5).

   Replace drain screw (5) before filling.

   Allow hydraulic fluid to completely drain out, if possible (approx. 5 minutes). When draining the hydraulic fluid, swivel the transmission to and fro to ensure that all the oil is drained off.

10. Drain gear set gear oil, to do so, remove drain screws (6).

    Replace drain screws (6) before filling.

    Allow gear set gear oil to drain off completely if possible (approx. 5 minutes). When draining the gear set gear oil, swivel the transmission to and fro to ensure that all the oil is drained off.

11. Using assembly stand (030), move transmission housing (1) into vertical position.
