Detach Gear Set Housing From Differential Housing - AR27.40-P-0540-01RQ
Transmission 700.40
Attach lifting device (010) to clutch housing (14).
Use the fastening points (a) on the
lifting device (010).
Use the fastening points (b) on the clutch housing (14).
Shown without gear set housing
- Remove short steel bolts (12, 9 pcs.).
- Remove long steel bolts (13, 7 pcs.).
- Remove steel bolts (11, 3 pcs.).
- Detach clip (1) from shift mechanism hydraulic unit connector (5).
- Detach clip (2) from clutch hydraulic unit connector (6).
- Remove bolts (3) securing connector plate (4) of shift mechanism hydraulic unit (5).
- Carefully drive shift mechanism hydraulic unit connector (5) into differential housing (8) using soft face hammer and remove connector plate (4).
- Carefully drive clutch hydraulic unit connector (6) into differential housing (8) using soft face hammer.
When replacing clutch hydraulic unit.
- Push shift mechanism hydraulic unit connector (5) and clutch hydraulic unit connector (6) into differential housing (8).
- Lift differential housing (8) until tensioned and carefully loosen from gear set housing (9) using assembly lever.
Pry off at the specified point only (see picture).
Otherwise the sealing surface will be damaged and the transmission must be replaced.
- Lift differential housing (8) off gear set housing (9).
During the lifting operation, make sure that the shift mechanism hydraulic unit connector (5) and the clutch hydraulic unit connector (6) are pushed into the differential housing (8).
Damage is avoided in this way.
- Set down differential housing (8) on a suitable table with a plastic surface.
It is essential to set it down on a plastic surface.
The sealing surface of the differential housing (8) will otherwise be damaged.
- Turn gear set housing (9) by 90° and drain off remaining transmission oil.
Drain off the transmission oil as fully as possible (approx. 5 min).
