NOTES Absolute cleanliness must be ensured when working on the transmission. Thoroughly clean area around the separating point before opening the hydraulic system. Use only lint-free cleaning cloths For repairs always wear oil-resistant, fiber-free gloves which are lined with rubber. Store transmission component parts in clean surroundings. Here it is recommended that you cover the component parts or store them in a clean plastic box with cover.

Even the smallest foreign objects in the hydraulic components will lead to malfunctions and total failure of the transmission.

The transfer case cannot be replaced separately, it must be replaced together with the automatic transmission.

In the event of damage to bearings on the bevel pinions or differential side gears or damage to the intermediate housing or basic housing, replace the transfer case together with the automatic transmission as a unit.

The following components of the transfer case can be replaced separately:

It is essential to drain excessive transmission oil.

Otherwise malfunctions will occur.

Drain the transmission oil completely when the transmission is warm.

The hot measuring range on a transmission at operating temperature (70 to 90°C) is decisive for the correct oil level, which in turn guarantees trouble-free operation of the transmission.
