Remove And Route Tensioning Cables Of Roof Lining - AR77.33-P-2501-01C

Move soft top to repair position

Move soft top to repair position R3.
Knock off rivet (2b) and remove rest of rivet.
Guide tensioning cable (2) out of eyelet (2c).
If necessary, mark routing of tensioning cable (2).
Press tensioning cable (2) out of mounting strip (9) using a suitable tool and cut off clamping ring (14).
Remove tensioning cable (2) from mounting strip (9).
Insert cutting wire through guide (2a) into mounting strip (9) and fasten new tensioning cable (2) at open end.
Use a round cutting wire.

New tensioning cable (2) has a yellow marking on ring eyelet.

Pull new tensioning cable (2) using cutting wire through guide (2a) of mounting strip (9).
Press clamping ring (14) onto new tensioning cable (2) using a suitable tool and install in bracket of mounting strip (9).
Press clamping ring (14) so that dimension "a" is 3.5 ± 0.5 mm and dimension "b" is 3.75 ± 0.25 mm.
Route new tensioning cable (2) through previously marked eyelet (2c).
Check tensioning cable (2) is routed correctly.
Rivet ring eyelet of new tensioning cable (2).
Before riveting ensure that tensioning cable (2) is not twisted, crossed, or offers excessive resistance. Otherwise the roof lining will be damaged when actuating the soft top mechanical components.
