	Preparatory activity
1	Switch on ignition
	Check
2	Check coolant temperature gauge (16) and coolant temperature warning lamp (17)	The pointer of the coolant temperature gauge (16) must indicate the current coolant temperature and the coolant temperature warning lamp (17) must light up. If there are problems: ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
3	Check ESP®/ASR OFF warning lamp (3)	The ESP®/ASR OFF warning lamp (3) must light up. If there are problems: ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
4	Check ESP® SPORT indicator lamp (18)	The ESP® SPORT (18) indicator lamp must light up. If there are problems: ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
5	Check fuel level indicator (21)	The fuel level indicator (21) must indicate the current fuel level in the fuel tank. If there are problems: ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
6	Check multifunction display (19)	Check the multifunction display (19) and its display elements (27, 28, 30, 31) for visible pixel faults, vertical stripes, missing segments or black dots. If there are problems: ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
7	Manually switch on the exterior lights
8	Check instrument illumination	All pointer instruments (26, 29) must be lit. If there are problems: ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
9	Actuate instrument illumination brightness control	The instrument illumination must be brighter or darker to match. If there are problems: ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
10	Manually switch off exterior lights
11	Switch on lamps in passenger compartment and check for proper operation	Check inside rear-view mirror, reading, mirror and glove compartment lamps. If there are problems: ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
